I have put : Sedum acre, forget me nots, annual phlox and annual poppies
all with pretty good success. I have mixed beds of iris with daylilly.
This looks good but I am afraid to water them much or fertilize. The iris
dont like the water or fertilizer the daylillys
deserve. These mixed beds took a beating before I realized what I was doing.
The result was soft rot and leafspot. Now days I try to mix the iris with
perenials that can take extreme water stress. The iris seem to do fine.
When the daylillys really need a drink of water bad, Ill give them a
little. I am really not cruel to my plants, Its that I have well water
here thats really cold . The daylillys dont like a massive temp difference
when watering.
Whatever I am doing seems to be oK . I still have ll
the daylillys and most of the Iris.
