i agree. and to hear about what they look like growing in gardens, and what
little tidbits you guys know about what the hybridizer was trying to do when
they came up with that variety, and, of course, whether its known to grow in
the rot zone.....

uh oh. well, we sure will be interested in hearing how well those new babies
do for you, clarence. GALLANT ROGUE hasn't died here yet, but it has had the
molliegrubs since i first got it a few years ago.

BEHOLD A LADY really does well here, though. and last time i looked, MAGIC
MAN was still alive and looked healthy, though begging to be moved out of the
weed patch being overtaken by walnut seedlings.

i will certainly at least try the catalogue - have been really pleased with
other iris from texas/oklahoma, so far. i wonder why they don't mention tb's
in their bulletin ad? i had seen black's tbs in other catalogues, so i knew
there were some, but thought it was a place where they only sell their own
recent intros (way out of my price range).

clarence - i always look for florence winners and am glad you have started
doing the international news in the bulletin. reading about the 'terrible'
growing conditions at the florence gardens was really funny to me. sounds
like new varieties get a reasonably tough trial there. too bad florence
italy and the united states trial gardens are not in the rot zone, although
florence sounds close. do you know if IKAR is being widely grown here so i
can get some of it in a few years?
