Hello all,
Our daffodils are generally harbingers of Spring -- earliest are February
Gold and King Alfred. (the original 1899 variety introduced by John
Kendall). In a normal year they start bloom in early February. This spring
they started late Feb -- early March. We are at least three weeks later
than usual for our location. (20 years average of first bloom -- we are
packrats and save our garden calendars) I can only hope that the iris
season plays catch-up!
We are going to the Mass Medley -- strength and checkbooks permitting! Anne
did a quick survey of the weed situation-- henbit and mouse-eared chickweed
absolutely LOVED the winter. Her comment, "1 hour = 5 clumps, 1100 clumps =
30 DAYS OF WEEDING!!!"
Best regards,
