you left out sleet, frost, lightening strikes, and floods....or are those
more generic acts of God like earthquakes and herds of pigs?
sharon - well that explains it! i probably have flunked every one of your
list of things that makes for poor take - i haven't paid that much attention
to temps, time of day, etc, but it has always been something of an
afterthought, which could have been on hot days in the afternoon, and it
easily is in the 80's during my peak bloom. i had gotten the impression from
the world of iris that i needed to wait on these flowers for half a day after
they are fully open. and you guys have heard about the vigor of my plants ad
nauseum. humidity i got! this is the first time i have heard of high
humidity being good for anything where plants are concerned. i thought only
insects, fungi, and bacteria were beneficiaries.
IMMORTALITY set a bee pod last summer - it was a self (nothing else in bloom)
- any presumptions about self pollinating and what to expect in offspring?
what is this about toothpicks?
