Goodness, I went outside this morning, and there were TWO irises
blooming. One is a pure white one, from the house across the street. I
have no idea what kind it is, but it may have been there since the first
of the century. The other is a pure purple one from the physics building
at New Mexico State University; I thinned out the bed years ago and have
hauled rhizomes to every location since!
We will still have another frost, I'm sure, but it sure was a surprise to
see these two. As I said, the surprise is the part I like best!
