Ensata has joined.

Good Morning from Michigan.

I've been hearing about this Iris List since signing on to aol in October.
Have not been sure about jumpin in -- when summer gardening arrives there
will be little time to "log on". We (Bob Bauer and myself) have been
surprised to receive catalog requests saying that they heard about us on the
Iris-L. So, its time for Ensata Gardens to subscribe to the iris-l and see
if anyone wants to talk about Japanese iris.

We have a commercial garden specializing in Japanese iris and Siberian iris.
We grow about 450 cultivars of Japanese iris and hybridize seriously. Did
you know that there are only about 350 cultivars in existance from American
hybridizers?

I just finished typing and delivered our catalog to the printers last week
and it should be in the mail on March 10 -- for those of you who "subscribe"
to that "list"! Two new color pages this year (our 13th year). Now this
week it is time to take our seeds out of the refrig and start germinating. I
found our article on JI seed germination (indoors) on the "net" on the
Canadian Iris Society home page which is on the AIS home page!

Hope I don't repeat too much that has already been "published" on the LIST
before we signed on....but....just received a copy of Country Living Gardener
magazine, April '97....nice article on Currier McEwen with two color pages of
Japanese iris photos and two color pages of Siberian iris photos.

Guess this is enough intro talk to get started. Now, to clear up the gossip
you've heard about us, the horse's mouth is before your eyes! Go ahead and
ask!

Until, John Coble Ensata@aol.com
