Potting Up Iris

I'm trying to pot up median Iris for sale in bloom in pots.
This pertains mainly to getting ready for next spring.
Two major concerns are what potting mix to use because I'm afraid of the way
the plants root that they will fall over in a peat/perlite mix (The TBs fall
over in the garden as it is).
Second if I use a soiless what fertilizers work best. Again I don't want to
use to much nitrogen.
Bob Sobek tells me I can dig MDBs soon, pot them up and they will bloom this
year in pots so I'm going to experiment a bit this year. Thanks in advance for
