From a new member, JI's, Ca resistant

After waiting in the wings for a short while I am taking the plunge to post
my first message.

I found the talk about Ca resistant JIs interesting. I would like to work
on developing a few hardy, lime induced chlorosis resistant JIs. If one
could come up with such an accomplishment the JI growing area would
increase. You would be able to use JI in the landscape with out as much
fuss.

I grew what I received as I. ensata (open pollinated) from seed. One of the
resulting seedlings resembles a JI in flower but not in typical foliage.
This seedling did fine on soil that was high in pH ( approx. 8-8.5), where
other JIs have done poorly. What could I have? Is it a true ensata species?
Can ensata cross with setosa? The foliage resembles setosa. Flower shape
between setosa and ensata is similiar since they both lack significant
stds.

If anyone knows where a person might find additional information on
MaxSteiger and his special JI's the 'Ca-Re" strain, I would appreciate it.
I have World of Iris and JI by Currier McEwen, is there any contacts in
Germany one might NET to.
