Your words are kind. If I were living in NJ and were going to grow azaleas
(and I know there are really good ones that will do just fine), I would
contact the Azalea Society and ask for advice. I don't know if they have a
web page, and I no longer have an address for them. But if all else failed,
I am sure someone at the National Arboretum could give you azalea contacts
(B.Y Morrison, one of the founders of the American Iris Society, was also the
creator and first director of the National Arboretum---and, he is most famous
not for the irises he hybridized (and there were some good ones) but for his
cold hardy azaleas! The azalea area in the Arboretum is called the B. Y.
Morrison Garden. As a result of course, the National Arboretum has a long
history of involvement with azaleas.) Cheers, Clarence
