Iris Irritation

Katherine: whenever a blooming stalk I particularly fancy is threatened by
hail, or freeze, or an approaching windstorm, I just cut it and find a nice
vase for it in the house. That way I can enjoy it for days, whether or not it
would have been pulped in the garden. THis doesn't apply, of course, if it's
something I want to use for hybridizing, but I like cut iris in the house if
only for the fragrance.

Barb in Santa Fe, where I have amaryllis and orchids blooming in the house
now, but none of them compare to iris. IrisMaven@msn.com
