Does anyone know where lists of the various medal winners in the different
iris categories can be found? I have been able to assemble a Dykes list from
Dan River's web site and other sources, and I lack only about 4 growers and
dates of introduction - something Dan River regretably missed.
But what about French and English Dykes winners? What about Wister medals
and Williamson-White Awards for MTBs, Knowlton Medals for BBs, Eric Nies
awards for Spurias, Payne awards for Japanese, Morgan-Wood winners for
Siberians and so on? I fully expected to find these lists as an appendix in
either the AIS Judge's Handbook or the in "The World of Iris".
I'd be happy to post the Dykes List I've assembled or e-mail it direct to
anyone so interested.
It surprises me that these winners are not more readily available.
Temperature in Upper East Tennessee in mid 60s today. Was able to get the
soil broken in all my beds (5, each about 50 feet long) with a gizmo called
The Claw, which works fine if you've already pulled the weeds. Got all beds
broken loose and bone meal applied within two hours, but I did break a
sweat! Finished just as the first drops of our third drencher rain in five
days began to fall.
