locally (Thrifty Nickle, whatever), run a small ad listing your meeting
dates and with a phone number for information."

In the Ottawa region there are about 30 local, free newpapers
distributed.  These are controlled by a few publishers.  In discussion
with them, they have expressed delight with the idea of publishing
articles from our local rock garden society newletter and announcements
of meetings.  We are now in the process of arranging to e-mail the
newsletter to each publisher as soon as it is available.  Hopefully, the
result will be very wide and continuous publicity.  Our membership is
already climbing rapidly.

PS  I have tried twice to unsubscribe as I will be travelling to the
West Coast for ten days but to no vail. Otherwise the projected 400
messages will swamp the person who's job is to send on my business
messages.
