Lloyd: The reblooming sdlg you are referring to is a self of mid-yellow
with a mid blue beard. Form is super-better than CLARENCE (the iris) if that
is possible. This sdlg bloomed last May and had at least one stalk each
month of the summer of 96. On November the 7th of 1996 while cutting out
spent-and frozen stalks I removed a stalk that had opened its first bloom an
Novembe thr 1st a stalk that was about 14" tall and one just emerging from
the center of its fan. The year before it had bloomed in the sdlg field in
May and again in early October. Right now there are 16 fans and increases.
A sibling is a wonderfully shaped dark yellow bitone with self beards. Both
are fertile and I just transplanted the sdlg----don"t sdlg count, but
germination this year was not good-----just a hair above 50% Will keep you
posted concerning the above. Also, want to thank you for the wonderful gene
pool that you have afforded those of us who have just gotten into the
reblooming fun. I have just gotten my collection of named and seedling
rebloomers to the place that I feel comfortable in working this area.
Sincerely, Sterling
