Great list Clarence! Here's another idea:
My parents are trying a new experiment this year with their catalog
(Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden). They are offering free newer Iris to anyone
who sends in an AIS subscription with a plant order. The value of the Iris
will be at least as much as the membership (single, annual, triennial,
etc.). Current AIS members can get the free Iris if they send in a GIFT
membership for someone else.
I think that is a cool way to promote the AIS along with selling their
plants. I just hope they don't go broke giving away too many Irises (great
for the AIS; not so great for my parents). :-)
