The following synopsis is from an article of PC Magazine's current issue
which is March 25, 1997 Vol. 16 No. 6:
Point and Shoot for PCs
Three cameras advance the state of the art for digital shutterbugs.
Until recently, most entry level digital cameras were boxy affairs with
limited features that yielded relatively crude pictures. The latest
crop of filmless cameras--the $600 Fujix DS-7, the $900 Olympus D-300L,
and the $1000 Ricoh RDC-2--look and feel more like point-and-shoot 35 mm
cameras and produce some of the best images we've seen yet.
...
But for the best image quality and price/performance ratio, the Olympus
D-300L is our choice. What makes the Olympus D-300L our choice is its
superb image quality. At 1,024 by 768 pixels it has the highest
resolution of any entry-level digital camera. If you want nothing short
of the best images for the money, the Olympus D-300L is for YOU.
