Re: AIS Dues, Finances, and Membership

I have to speak up on the dues question and defend our anateur ways.
High dues are always a deterrent to me in joining organizations, nor in
my experience with other groups, have I known them to routinely result
in better services. 
	It is being said that there is a decrease in timeliness with a change
in personnel. This also does not jibe with my experience. Some years ago
when I ordered registry books I waited several months for them, so I do
not see that the several weeks being currently described represents such
a poor record for a volunteer. I hope we can continue as is.
	Perhaps those who feel they have waited too long for books would care
to volunteer to take over the job themselves.
