Apologies are in order for the lack of name and location. While I'm at
it, let me introduce myself. I grew up on Iris Lane in what is now
Eastlake, Ohio and have been growing iris for about 30 years. As far as
borers go, I had borers in 3 iris rhizomes last year out of about 300
iris. I alternate cygon with orthenex every two weeks when I spray the
roses. I had problems with crickets when separating iris and letting
them dry on the concrete patio. The only time I've had problems with
crickets in planted rhizomes is where the crickets have trash to hide
and the problem was minor. I've eliminated the trash and since have had
little problems with crickets. I keep the irsi beds as clean as
possible. Delighted to be on board with the "Iris-l".
