Transferring organisms from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern or vice
versa tends to disrupt any of their functions that depend on seasonal cues
for their regulation. It upsets the breeding cycle of sheep (pre-Dolly),
for instance, who normally respond to decreasing day length. No doubt it
can have a similar effect on the flowering of plants, the exact response
depending on when the transfer was made.
