Hi everyone, boy there sure are a lot of you out there!!
We are Gordon and Jan Hueller of Tucson AZ. with about 3000 sq ft in
Iris. Jan has lived here since 1948, having moved here from Elkhart,
Ind. and Gordon escaped dreary WI, having moved from Appleton to sunny
Tucson in 1993. We are married almost 2 years now and both have grown
kids and grandkids.
We live in a rural area with lots of wildlife, which makes life
interesting. Our biggest concern is the Gambrel quail which have found
our iris babies, buds and blossems to their liking. We have tried many
things to discourage them, the latest mothballs, but came home the other
day to find our Happy New Year blooms all chewed up. We have poultry
fence around the yard, which keeps the rabbits out but the birds can
just fly over. We're thinking about enclosing the whole garden with
high fence and shade screen, but that's a major project. Maybe we'll
just give in and get a small dog to guard our treasures.
Jan is currently building an intex of AIS bulletin articles by subject.
So far has Oct. 1991, when she joined, to Jan. 1997. Has any else heard
of a listing like this? She is probably too late to get the back issues
that Gloris Fairhead is disposing of, but if anyone else hase back
issues you you would share, sell or trade for, we would like to here
from you.
Anyone interested in recieving the list let us know, it could be very
helpful especially for newer Irisarians who are looking for spicific
information.
