Christmas trees work very well for me. I have used up to 50, picking the
surrounding neighborhoods clean! After I remove the branches in the spring,
I run 'em through a chipper and mulch the Siberian and Japanese irises with
the stuff. That works well also. I consider that I'm doing the neighbors a
service by recycling their trees, doing the earth a small service also, and
helping my own irises to grow better. It's a no-lose proposition, even if my
husband might agree with your wife!
