Thanks for the info. I will try the wire in the new beds.  We have several
cats on the ranch, they also do well with the gophers and the field mice, but
the moles are a rare treat for the cats.  The moles don't eat the rhizomes,
but do a good job of displacing them and raising the soil over their tops.

We live in Escalon, a very small farming community about 30 miles southeast
of Stockton.  If you ever travel to the Sierra's, namely Sonora, Twain Heart
or Pinecrest you travel directly through Escalon, but just don't blink!

Know Fremont and San Jose quite well, our family used to own 800 acres in the
hills above Milpitas off of Calaveras/Felter road.  Are you familiar with an
Iris farm in Modesto called Woodland Iris Gardens?  Hundreds of varieties,
will be opening on April 6th....well worth the drive over the Altamont.....
