Re: HYB: Birth Announcement

Sharon--also using WELCOME REWARD, I got a series of quarter-breds very
similar to your description, crossing it to a dark brown, violet-blazed
seedling of NEON RAINBOW. Unfortunately, all of them faded quite badly in
our Virginia sun and have long since been discarded.

Your mention of the Holden arilbreds reminds me that I still have one
surviving, with no special care at all, at the base of a southfacing brick
wall. The tag is lost so I do not know which one it is, but the flower is
pure regeliocyclus (like the old Van Tubergen things) and the plant rather
like an Intermediate bearded. The influence of korolkowii is fairly
strong. I do not recall ever using it for breeding but it does have a lot
of blue-green pollen. This plant originally came from an ASI plant sale.
