The best slide film that I've ever come across is 'FujiChrome Velvea
Professional'. Like Extrachrome, it does a really good job with the
blues and reds, but also pulls out greens quite nicely like Kodachrome.
It runs around $15.00 for a 36 exposure roll, but takes stunning,
incredibly sharp photographs.
The only problem that I have with it is that it's not Kodak -- I use a
Kodak RFS 2035 slide scanner, but there are no drivers for non-Kodak film.
As a result, my yellows often end up looking washed-out (if anyone knows
of a solution, please let me know!).
But if you won't be using a Kodak scanner, Velvea all the way (well, for
me at least).
