I do not know if this will work for you but here is how I handle
deletions when I do a reply:
First, from the task bar at the top of the e-mail screen I click on
"Re-mail" and bring up the screen with the message you want to reply to.
Next I use the left button on the mouse to highlight the lines or words
I want to delete.
Next I click on the right mouse button and a small screen appears with
options on it. I click on "delete" and only the highlighted items
disappear.
