Tom,
What I do is use tweezers. When you remove the anther from a flower try
to position the anther so the tip (either side) is just barely in the
tweezers and aligned in the same direction. Press down and clamp on the
anther and use the tweezers as an extension to pollinate the other
flower. Any pollen that may remain on the tweezers can easily be rubbed
off.
