I certainly hope so.
But we're talking about human nature here, as much as the iris. My stint as
co-chairman of the ASI Plant Sale was a strong influence in my decision to put
so much emphasis on gardenability of my arilbreds. Too many people would buy
the gorgeous predominantly-onco arilbreds, ignore the hybridizer's cultural
advice, then complain because the plants survived only a couple of years.
IMO, that should reflect badly on the grower -- not the cultivar or the
hybridizer.
