Shouldn't be a question of the quality of the picture; that's
driven more by the format used (*.bmp, *.gif, *.tif, etc.). CD's are a
more reliable media to store pictures on. Disks are magnetic media
based and subject to damage more so than a CD. Also, graphical files
typically are HUGE in size. CD's allow for a considerable amount of
space (up to 650 meg or so). The new DVD format will allow even more
storage but no average user will afford one of those for a while till
the technology gets more common and cheaper.
Back to the quality issue, most of the pictures you see on the
web are in *.gif format if that is any indicator. This format is a
little more efficent in storing the graphic itself. Check with your
local photographer/computer guru to get truly experienced opinion.
