Hence, one of the reasons the Tall Bearded Iris Society was
organized as a cooperating society.
The first issue of "Tall Talk," the publication of the TBIS
arrived yesterday, and for their initial effort at publishing a newsletter
I would give the editor and his team gold stars. All articles were
written by well-known iris personalities.
A ballot accompanied the publication. The seven board members of
this society will be elected by the membership, and as all nominees
have superior credentials, voting will be difficult.
The TB Society will meet in Oklahoma City in May and again in June
in Denver at the AIS Convention.
The TB Society has members of other sections as well. Perhaps I
talk TB's too much for my main hybridizing interest is there, but I am a
member of other sections too...HIPS, SIGNA, RIS, and SLI. From time to
time I have had memberships in the Median Society and ASI.
I may be the only person in MS who will bloom calsibes,
versilaevs, and sibtosas this spring from two year clumps.
My arilbreds never looked better. In fact, the foliage is cleaner
than the TB foliage and bloomstalks are showing.
So, a proponent of the TB Society can have other iris interests as
well and speak of them with high regard!
