ARIL: increases

I vaguely remember being told by someone/somewhere/sometime that arilbreds
would not do very well in Cincinnati's climate. However, the ones I ordered
and planted last summer are doing far better than my regular TB's. Some of
my arilbreds have 10 new increases off the main rhyzome. Is this "normal"?
Some of my TB's have no increases. Is this "normal"?
