     Thanks for catching that.  My statement did not come out as I intended
it too.  The problem was with the urban trees.  They would form the nuts,
but the "meat" inside would always be shriveled up and useless.  This is
probably because of root damage the trees sustained when houses were being
built.
     Black Walnuts are edible, and taste wonderful.  I enjoy eating them
myself.  I did not mean for it to sound as if I was saying that Black
Walnuts were not edible because they are.  The problem was that the trees
in the small urban yards where I lived did not produce good nuts.  I am
sorry for any confusion I might have caused with my statement.
