A while back I posted to the list George Bush's hypothesis that repeat
bloom for Japanese irises my be caused by a hard cold spell after growth
has started. With the unusually mild February, many of my JI have broken
dormancy. Hopefully, a few nights in the freezer will stimulate another
round of bud formation and extend the bloom season into August. I'll
keep you posted.
