Well with the chill sitting in here in Delaware all the daffadills and
crokises<sp?> and other flowers starting to bloom have been killed, the
blooms anyway. I checked my iris bed yesterday to find them handeling
the chill alright with the excption that a few of the leaves on my fans
are dieing out. I can only hope that this chill dosen't effect my blooms
latter on in the season. Just a question to anyone who cares to take a
stab at this one, will this chill cause me to have problems with leaf
spotts and other threating problems latter on in the season and what are
some treatments for these problems? My grandmother nextdoor has a bunch
of Irises that haven't been cared for in years and the fans on them are
out in mass and are jast as green as can be, not a brown spot on any of
them but there are quite a few weeds grown around them that seem to act
as sort of protection from the cold and the irises are planted in frount
of one of the walls of the house.
