Or should I say back again. Had to drop out of Iris-L to have time to tend
my garden last year. Hello, again, everyone.
I raised the question last year of finding a full list of all the medal
winners, not just Dykes, but Caparne-Welch, Williamson-White, Mary Swords
Debaillon (what a great name) et al. The only response I got was they were
in the Check List. I got the 1939, 1949, 1959, 1969 check lists finally and,
well it does mention it if you want to read every single plant description
in the Check List, and then not if the plant was registered late in the
decade and won a medal early in the next decade.
So using all resources - catalogs, lot of e-mails, etc. I have assembled a
winner's list of sorts. At least the start of one. Please check it out at:

Let me know of any corrections or additions. I've also got a mystery iris
feature for you experts to try and identify each month. So far the current
one has not had anyone come close yet, and I thought it would be relatively
easy. Give it a shot, and I'm glad to be back.
After the four days of solid frost last week I may not need to worry about
gardening this year.
