At the time that I was in Louisiana, I didn't have a clue as to what I was
looking at, other that I knew that they were some sort of iris that was
growing in the water and there was a wide spectrum of color. After having
taken several classes in judging LA iris with Marie Callet (sp.) and others,
I know that there are several theories about "wild" hybreds that existed
before collection.
Here, several of our local irisarians grow LA's, but they take a bit of care
to keep them growning. We do the best by creating a "bog" garden and grow
them in that.
