The USDA has developed this Hardiness Zone Map and it has just been revised in
the past couple of years by checking with gardeners and nurserymen as to what
lived through winter and also the southerly area has some problems with too
much hot weather and some things require certain cole temperatures to bloom-
tulips have to be refrigerated to bloom in the south. Z 2 -50 to -40, A3 -40
to -30, Z4 -30 to-20, Z 5 -20 to -10 (Colo. MO, IL, IN, Oh,part of MIch, Penn,
NY, NH, s ME., MA, Z6 -10 to 0, Z 7 0 to 10, Z8 10 to 20, Z 9 20 to 30, part
of CA, FL, Z 10 30 to 40, Z11 above 40 These temps are F degrees. I know this
