Some sources, including the one mentioned, appear to have the bad
habit of putting "house" names on their stock. As in the case of SHOGUN,
it is a "Japanese sounding" name, but that name is already occupied by a
historic TB Iris. This is not the first time this has happened.
Once again, (if you want plants to be properly named) this is why I
recommend getting plants from specialty sources or those that specialize in
only a few plant types.

This would be the best thing for you to do.

The Iris you come up with will not be named "shogun" but at least it
will be properly named of you follow this lead.

If I get one, it goes directly to the recycle bin. The last one I got
was forwarded from Kentucky. I hope they somehow manage to "lose" me.
