Merit has been discussed several times on this list in the past. Some learned
irisarians recommend it highly. I investigated the subject in May 1997,and, as
I later posted here, I was informed by the Geigher agricultural chemical
company that as of that time Merit was not labeled for use on ornamentals, but
only on turf and for interiorscape use. The company representative was quite
adamant on this point. The situation may have changed since, but I would urge
anyone considering use of this chemical to investigate the current status.
