In my experience with spuria they don't transplant in the spring. I wanted
some that were at an abandoned farm house down the road I tried spring and
it at least seemed to fail. I tried again that fall and planted them near
but not in the same spot as the failed attempt. The fall planting was a
success and bloomed in the spring. I orderd some more and planted them the
next fall all but one made it. Now somewhere in this 2 to 3 year period
the spring planted confused spurias decided to appear and grow. I may be
wrong but there is a distinct time in the growth cycle of the spuria in
which it should be transplanted other wise it may be dormant a long time or
just rot on you. I live In the southern part of zone 7 in N. central
Texas. Do spuria behave in another manner in more northerly zones.
