Dennis was right about 'leveret' being an aussie word. It actually means
a small lever. The feminine form of course is leverette.
It can also be used as a verb, in the female sense, for instance in the
following:
"The cat has bought home a baby hare, what will I do with her. Don't let
her in the house, leveret the door until she's eaten it."
Strine is a complex language.
