I can't say much on this because I have been here only a little less
than six months. One thing I am following is Robert Turley's postings.
Since our climates are similar, I figure that most of the Irises that grow
for him could grow for me. Actually, I think I may get more frost than he
does. As time goes, I will be able to give a better report of what does
and does not grow here. If I can get two or more TB, SIB, or JI Irises to
survive and bloom at the same time, I intend to hybridize to see if I could
get seedlings that would grow here. Louisianas are known to do well here.
Since the last rain, and with the lengthening days, I noticed that my
lone Spuria Iris, ILA CRAWFORD, has really taken off growing.
