Re: iris growing peculiar

Well, I have an iris being weird - maybe.  Last year I ordered some aril
breds and receive 4 bonuses, 3 named and all aril bred.  One just said
bonus.  It was a very small rhizome and put on 4 increases.  These all have
a healthy color but have only grown about 2 inches tall maximum.  It's in
the bed with the others which have reached more normal heights.  This a.m.
I looked and was astonished to see a bud emerging from the mother plant. 
It is almost completely out of the fan, but no stalk out so far.  Are there
ARs this tiny?  Any ideas?  I wish they had written a name on the fan, but
perhaps they didn't have room.  The word bonus took up the whole leaf and
there was only one still green.  It appeared to be pretty dormant.

Zone 7 - where the pure aril I bought as atropurpurpea definitely has buds
emerging in two stalks - after waiting 3 years.  I've gleaned from the list
it may possibly not be properly identified considering the source, but it
has all the signs of being aril and has been great practice grower.
