I don't have many things that list Louisianas, but I pulled out one catalog
from Nicholl's Garden in Northern Virginia and while they aren't all in it,
CLARA GOULA (Arny'78) is there, along with some very early and simple things
like DIXIE DEB (Chowning '51), PUTTYTAT (Arny'58) and RED DAZZLER ('Hall
'69).Whether this is the norm, I can't say.
I don't know how to reconcile those evocations of natural habitat with the
desire for hybrids at all. If people want things that look like species they
should grow species.
And I think any kid who wants an iris should get it.
