Bill: You won't get an argument here either. I confess to Cygon (for obvious
reasons), but I try to use it sparingly.

As for the rest of the garden.. I have personally gone from chemicals to
organics.. because of RESULTS. A vivid lesson in chemical fertilizers..... I
spied a slug near a precious hosta while fertilizing.... I impulsively
sprinkled some 10-10-10 on the slug... and watched in horror as it writhed and
shriveled.

No... I wasn't horrified about what happened to the slug... I was horrified
about what I was putting in the soil!

I have never been much for pesticides because I'm just not organized enough...
but then, with the exception of iris borer, there's nothing in my garden that
does so much harm it has to be banished for it.

And as for herbicides...... well, I like to weed.

And, people.... remember when you use that community composting pile that
those people may not have been as judicious as you are with herbicides,
pesticides and who knows what!

Kathyguest in BEEEEEEEEUUUUUTIFUL East Aurora, New York where I just got on my
belly in the mud for a perfect slide of those precious reticulata for next
year's slide shows. Oh... I hadn't changed from my work dress yet. (:
