I agree with Chad Schroter about Berkeley Botanical Gardens. The Cacti and
Succulents are amazing and they have a great collection of carnivorous
plants plus California natives and Mediterranean (South African, Chilean
and Australian) plants.

When you are doing the San Francisco tourist things, be sure to go to the
Stybring Arboretum in Golden Gate Park. Also, end of April - early May is
when the John McClaren Rhododendron Dell in the park should be in full
bloom.

I fully understand that these gardens are a must, only if you still have
strength after seeing all of the iris gardens in the area.
