Plant distribution in the US

Mark raised a question as to whether Sisyrinchium atlanticum is a real
species. Almost all questions of this sort for the United States are
answered at the USDA website:-

In the case of this genus, there are over 60 listed, with synonyms, and
it shows that this species, the Eastern Blue-eyed grass is the common
species in the whole of eastern US. There is a photo, distribution map,
etc. etc.

This is an excellent site for all irises and other plants for which you
might have questions.

Ian, in Ottawa where we have had two nights above freezing and it is
actually warm today. Snow is melting and I have seen signs of
reticulata and magnifica peeping through the soil. Not long now!
