Hello, Iris-Talk Folks,
Yep, the website Chris identified below is the Sooner State website giving
information on the national convention. I am new to Iris-Talk -- only been
on a couple of weeks. And I know I'm supposed to post a bio about myself as
an introduction. That'll have to come later. Just wanted y'all to know
that we're getting very excited about the convention, and are on the "home
stretch". As a matter of fact, we have a planning meeting tomorrow. I'm in
charge of the convention booklet, bus routes (working on that today), and my
garden will be one of the 11 on tour.
Weather has been beautiful here, up to 78 degrees last weekend. Daffodils
are in full bloom. If the quality of the irises is any indicator of things
to come, we should have a great iris bloom season. We're supposed to get
some rain (much-needed) this weekend, and it's supposed to cool off to lows
in the low-30's and high's in the 40's/low-50's this next week. That should
slow us down just right (some of us were getting concerned about the season
being too early)....
I'll participate more when I have the time. Have enjoyed reading your
comments, especially the McAllister posts and her fantastic webpage.
