Jan,

The following statement is contained in a book in my possession titled "How
to Make Cut Flowers Last" by Victoria R. Kasperski under the heading
Chemicals to Prolong Life (of the Flowers) :
"Our old friend, Aspirin, it seems has no value".

The publication date on this book is 1956. It appears that at that time
there was evidence that aspirin did not prolong the life of cut flowers. Is
there more recent evidence that would justify a reversal of this conclusion
or are we dealing with just another "Garden Legend"?
