I can empathize with that one...when the last hurricane to blow thru here
took down a tree at the base of which was a nice clump of a favorite purple
"unknown",
I couldn't even GET to the clump for a two week period until my hubby trimmed
enought off to raise the stump and try to salvage some. A little rot from
the moisture and lack of sun, but believe it or not, I replanted right away
and at least three nice mini-clumps are now thriving. Don't despair!
