Re: SPKR: Chuck Chapman

And for those who are newer to the list, I did a bloom report on medians
last year, including all of Chuck Chapman's introductions. Check the
archives for June 1998. The memorable ones were RUBY ERUPTION and
SKYDANCER, a white with strong yellow hafts hybridized by his daughter
Sylvia when she was 6 years old. I'm afraid that FOREVER BLUE sulked for
me, so we transplanted it and will see if it does better in its new spot.

It's spring, but you wouldn't know that here in Ottawa. As I look out the
window, it's white out there. They're calling for 10 inches of the white
stuff by the end of today. The only bright side that I see is that the
freeze-thaws aren't likely to hurt the iris. (And as Sandy mentioned, the
hole that kids dug in the snow right over the iris bed will be filled.)
There will probably still be a few inches of snow left when we settle into
warm weather.

Kathy, if you're coming to the CIS show, we'll see about bringing you some
goodies.
