OT-HUMOR: More on Rot

From: Judyhunt1@aol.com

I have shared many of your great "rot" posts with Bob Strohman. He was here
today and brought along his contribution. I hope his lines come through as
typed.

WHEN I WAS DONE 'TWAS THEN I THOUGHT OF TROT

			Rot
			Is what
			Some folks have got
			When weather's hot
			And the iris plot
Is damp and has a lot
Of nasty, ugly weeds that blot
Out all the sun and air and knot
Themselves into a carpet so that not
One iris can avoid acquiring that first spot,
The one that leads to all the rest until one's garden's shot.

If one but knew when he was just a little tot,
Sitting there upon his little pot
			What trouble waits. A cot-
			tage garden he'd boycott.
Instead he'd find himself a slot
			Upon a boat to Scot-
land. No more bugs to swat,
			And not
			One jot
			Of rot.
Epilogue
					Two words I didn't use:  the first was clot;
The other one, you may have guessed, was snot.

Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. Incidentally, Bob is traveling to
Huntsville, Alabama, this weekend to give a program on medians for their club
on Saturday. Should be entertaining as well as informative, if his earlier
programs are any indication.
